Bollywood Movie Review-Narendra Gupta
REVIEW
1) Sab Kushal Mangal

Director:Karan Vishwanath Kashyap.
Music:Harshit Saxena.
The film is heavily inspired from “Jabariya Jodi”(2019) and is based on the tradition of groom kidnapping. It’s narrative makes half-hearted attempts at underlining social ills like forced marriages and dowry. Priyaank Sharma(Son of Padmini Kolhapure & Tutu Sharma) is a host of a reality show and Akshaye Khanna plays the role of a politician, who gets offended by some reporting of Priyaank . Eventually both of them land up loving the same girl Riva Kishan(daughter of Ravi Kishan).
Akshaye Khanna delivers an impressive performance . Newcomers, Priyaank Sharma and Riva Kishan are confident but lack chemistry. Supriya Pathak & Satish Kaushik are superb. Dialogues evoke laughter and the overall tone of the film remains light. Film is below average and does not have much to offer.
2) *Bhangra Pa Le *

The story is divided into two eras; one is the present (2019) and the other pertaining to the World War II era(1946), Sunny Kaushal who hails from a Punjabi background, wants to exhibit bhangra on a big platform, being deeply attached to the dance form. Film showcases a college rivalry where they compete with each other to win the international dance competition, inspired by “Love Aaj Kal”(2009).Debutant Director Sneha Taurani(daughter of Ramesh Taurani) has done a commendable job but sadly chosen the wrong subject.
‘Bhangra Paa Le’ has nothing new to offer. It fails to connect with the audience. Punjabi accent is too much to digest. Inspite of being a musical film, the music (JAM8,Rishi Rich,Yash Narvekar,A Bazz) doesn’t need a mention as none of the song is a chartbuster. Lengthy narrative only makes things worse. Choreography of this peppy dance form looks pretty weak and predictable.
Sunny Kaushal (Debut as a lead) has done a decent job but with his zero market value, its difficult for him to pull it off as a solo hero. Debutant Rukhsar Dhillon looks pretty and does a decent job. Overall, this film has nothing new to offer other than the routine & boring dance subject.

3) *Shimla Mirchi *

Filmmakers completed ‘Shimla Mirchi’ in 2015 and was delayed by a good 5 years with no buyers for this supposedly comedy film. What a downfall for the veteran filmmaker Ramesh Sippy who made "Sholay" in 1975 to have made such a film ! It’s long and has a dull build-up to a predictable climax. It is a bland romantic comedy that needed tighter editing. It’s a pain to watch such an uninspiring, two-hour-long film. Everything about it is pathetic. Be it acting, story, screenplay or music. The list is never ending. The performances of the cast including Hema Malini is worst of their lifetime. The humor also isn’t funny. It’s quite likely that this film which is released in selected theatres will be pulled down immediately after the first show as there will surely be zero show after that (also due to release on OTT platform, Netflix). It’s easy to fool the OTT platform market team (buy at unreal price) who has practically zero knowledge of Bollywood films. Theatres would be deserted with no show to watch this junk film. The low buzz and lack of promotion will ensure that the movie will fizzle out eventually.
4) English Ki Taay Taay Fisss

Box-Office :
All the 6 films released will turn out to be a big disaster. The tradition of films never doing well on the new year’s goes to these releases as well. Overall collection of the opening day for all 6 films will not cross 75 lakhs and many might be pulled off due to no turn up. As a result, “Good Newwz” will continue to dominate the box office this week too!
